CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION

Our cruise conference on Challenges in OB/GYN is designed for physicians, certified nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, physician associates, nurses, and other allied healthcare professionals who manage preconception, pregnant, and postpartum patients. Covering a wide array of topics in obstetrics and gynecology, our expert faculty will discuss the latest evidence-based advancements in both obstetrics and gynecology, present emerging clinical data, and provide skills and strategies for application and implementation into your practice. This educational activity aims to increase learner knowledge, improve the competence and performance of all attendees, and contribute to their ability to work together as part of a coordinated healthcare team.

Topics for this year’s conference have been selected based on the educational needs underlying identified professional practice gaps. The gaps were derived from a variety of sources including evaluations and outcomes data from past participants, clinical expert input, Symposia Medicus’ online survey, and other medical and nursing data such as current clinical guidelines, research findings, and literature reviews.

The conference format includes didactic lectures, question and answer sessions, and case studies. Following a group of lectures, the question and answer sessions allow attendees to ask the faculty critical and challenging questions about caring for patients during various women’s healthcare situations.

An outstanding faculty has been assembled for this conference. Each faculty member was selected based on their individual area of expertise and ability to communicate current, evidence-based, and practical information to participants.

You are sure to enjoy our conference on Challenges in OB/GYN while sharing ideas and experiences with colleagues from across the country in the beautiful settings of Italy, Greece, Malta, Turkey, and Spain.

MINIMUM AGE TO CRUISE

Children must be at least six months old by September 14, 2024, to go on the cruise. Denial of boarding for children who do not satisfy this minimum age requirement may also result in the denial of boarding for one or more guests sailing with that child. No refunds will be given as a result of the denial of boarding to an underage child or other accompanying guests.

PASSPORT AND VISA INFORMATION

Passport Books (not Passport Cards) are REQUIRED for every passenger including children and infants. If you do not have a passport, please allow a minimum of 4-6 weeks to receive it after you complete and mail the application. Your passport cannot expire before March 14, 2025.

It is the sole responsibility of the guest to identify and obtain all required travel documents and have them available when necessary. These appropriate valid travel documents such as passports, visas, inoculation certificates, and/or family legal documents are required for ship boarding and country entry and/or re-entry into the United States and other countries. Based on citizenship, many countries require an entry visa.

Guests who do not possess the proper documentation may be prevented from boarding their flight or ship, or from entering a country, and may be subject to fines.

Note: No refunds will be given to individuals who fail to bring proper documentation.

For additional passport and visa requirements, visit the U.S. Department of State’s website at https://travel.state.gov/content/

If you make your own air arrangements, you should allow a minimum of three hours from the time your flight arrives in Rome to the time you must check-in at the ship (by 2:30pm). Note: Ship check-in begins at 11:30am and concludes at 3:30pm. Going home, you should allow at least three hours between when the ship disembarks in Barcelona and your plane departs (disembarkation starts at approximately 7:00am). The three hours allow you time for ship clearance, customs clearance (if applicable), and airport security. You can also request to be one of the first groups to depart the ship by going to the Guest Relations Desk as soon as possible once you board the ship and letting them know that due to a tight airline schedule, you need to be included in the first group off the ship.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION

If you choose to make your own air travel arrangements, you can purchase Celebrity Cruises® transfers to/from the ship. Transfers are only available on the below dates/times:

Ship embarkation of September 14, 2024
Your flight into the Rome must arrive no later than 1:30pm

Ship disembarkation of September 24, 2024
Your departure flight from Barcelona must leave no earlier than 10:00am

Once you have arrived and collected your luggage at the airport, you will be met by a Celebrity Cruises® representative outside the Baggage Claim area who will assist you with transportation to the ship.

When you return from your cruise and have claimed your luggage, a Celebrity Cruises® representative on the pier will direct you to your transportation to the airport.

Note: The transfers are only available on the scheduled day of ship embarkation (September 14, 2024) and disembarkation (September 24, 2024) based on flight times.

More information on pricing will be sent to all cruise passengers after booking.

Transportation must be booked with Symposia Medicus by Friday, June 21, 2024. Your flight itinerary must be provided in order to confirm your transfers.

The Classic Beverage Package includes: unlimited fountain and can sodas (Coca Cola products), bottled juices (cranberry, tomato, pineapple, and apple), fresh juices, premium teas and coffee (Lavazza and Cova), smoothies, non-premium bottled water, certain types of beer and wine, as well as non-premium spirits and cocktails. Note: this package covers any alcohol beverage up to $10/per serving.

If you do not book your cabin through Symposia Medicus, you can purchase a beverage package directly through Celebrity Cruises. Please note that if you do not have a beverage package all beverage purchases will incur a 20% service charge.

DINING ABOARD SHIP

When you make your cruise reservations, you can request either 6:00pm Main Dining, Flexible Select Dining (see details below), or 8:30pm Late Dining. Please inform us if you or your guests have any special food or dietary requirements and inform us of other cruise passengers (not guests in your cabin) with whom you would like to sit. Your final dining assignment will be indicated in your eDocs unless your preferred dining time is not available, in which case you will be waitlisted. If you are waitlisted, you can go to the Guest Relations Desk once you are onboard the ship to see if you can change your dinner seating time.

The Flexible Select Dining is a flexible dining option. With this option, you can be seated for dinner in the main dining room at any time between 6:00-9:30pm, or you can make reservations to dine at any time that you choose within that time frame. Reservations can be made up to July 11, 2024 or can be made on the ship.

If you reserve a suite, your dining will be in Luminae and you are automatically booked for Main Dining. If you have any requests or changes you will make them with your butler.

A Room Service fee of $9.95 will be charged per each room service order (complimentary for suite guests). If you order off the Continental Breakfast menu, the fee is waived.

This is a fixed cost, so you will pay the same fee whether ordering one dish for one person in a stateroom or ten separate items for four people in a stateroom.

Please Note: A 20% gratuity is additional and will automatically be added to the check.

Breakfast Room Service Menu is available from 6:00-11:00am each day of the cruise except disembarkation day.

Surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea, limestone architecture pops against the year-round temperate sun. In Barcelona, you’ll find stunning architecture, delectable cuisine, and vibrant cultural experiences at every turn.
