CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION
Our 17th Annual Summer Conference on Primary Care is designed to provide physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurses with current information on many of the crucial issues facing today’s primary care provider, as well as offer practical solutions to problems that can be immediately applied in a primary care practice.
The goal of this conference is to provide a comprehensive update and review on current issues in primary care. Emphasis will be placed on practical application of evidence-based presentations. In addition to the didactic sessions, the format will include small group breakout sessions and discussion periods for participant feedback and interaction.
Topics for this year’s conference have been selected based on extensive target audience needs assessment data resulting from professional practice gaps. These gaps are identified by a variety of sources including feedback and evaluations from past participants, clinical expert input, Symposia Medicus’ online survey, and other medical and nursing data.
Our outstanding faculty has been selected based on their individual areas of expertise, their ability to communicate first-hand knowledge to others, and their commitment to address issues of current concern to attendees.
Morning sessions and one afternoon session leave ample time for relaxing, enjoying discussions with colleagues from across the country, and for exploring beautiful Sedona.

There is something in Sedona for everyone, whether it's nature, history, arts, culture or shopping. Sedona has more than 80 galleries, restaurants, metaphysical shops, and specialty stores. With a large influence from Native American culture, much of Sedona's artwork reflects the Southwest's unique character. Its worldwide reputation as a hot spot for relaxation, healing and spiritual enrichment brings even more charm to the town of Sedona.
Sedona is located at the southern entrance to Oak Creek Canyon, at a 4500-foot elevation, above the heat of the Arizona desert. Sedona is a two-hour drive north of Phoenix, an hour southwest of Flagstaff, and two-and-a-half hours southeast of the Grand Canyon.
Four miles from downtown Sedona, the Hilton Sedona Resort is nestled in a dramatic Red Rock setting encompassing beautiful creeks, surrounded by pinon-studded Coconino National Forest pines. The resort has a par-71 championship golf course, three pools (including a lap pool), full service salon and spa, and state-of-the-art fitness facilities including tennis, aerobics, swimming, weight room and sauna.
The Village of Oak Creek, located about a mile from the resort, has a large variety of shops displaying crafts, jewelry, western wear and local artwork. Also, a few miles from the resort you will discover more shops, galleries and restaurants at Tlaquepaque Arts/Crafts Village.
